ABOUT

Hi! I’m Zarya, a new media technologist and researcher studying Digital Media at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA.

My past work dates back to 2010, where I began building my liberatory design practice through game-making, digital storytelling, tinkering on the web, and teaching others to do the same. Since then, my career has consisted of creating end-to-end design solutions for startups, nonprofits, and larger tech companies.

Currently, I conduct participatory research examining the online secondhand market through the lens of cyberfeminist economics. I am also a student, exploring what we can learn from writing speculative narratives at the School of Poetic Computation.

I enjoy critical theory of algorithms, queering design, alternative aesthetics or narratives of cyberculture, and biking.

Heres some cool organizations I’ve worked with!
